We celebrated Cousin Alanna's One year anniversary of being officially part of the Dennis family. They are foster parents and decided to adopt Alanna (not seen in photo) and later on Brooklyn (in photo). In a few months it will be Brooklyn's one year official adoption anniversary.

Ohmmmm. Not sure if Laura and her dad are wrestling or comparing belly's

After 10 years, my truck finally needs to be replaced. My brother in law Rob figured out the problem. He can fix it but we decided it was time to move forward. So he is buying it because he wants the challenge of fixing it. Later he will give it to his middle son.
Now the problem is figuring out what and when to get something.

Family Night at Chick Fil A

Family night with Shane and Savannah. Had a great time. Last week was the firefighters and this week the Police.

 Running from the Police
Craft Time. A 2 year old and a Marker....
Yep. Green Tongue. Luckily it was water based so it came off at bath time.

Play Time in the truck. Kinda like a play pen.

Time for hide and seek

I have slacked off this week I know. Always something to do. Last Saturday was the wink news feeds families hunger walk. I have to work it so every year grandma , Laura and Anthony come down. This year he found the gold fish and the ducks. He really enjoyed looking at them.

Family Night at Chic Fil A

We didn't know it was family night when we got there. Tables with crafts were set up along with a balloon guy,  Firemen, fire trucks and cows. Between eating, the playground and fireman show, we were there almost 2 hours. And as we were leaving, the fire fighters got a call and had to leave. Anthony had a great time.

Baby Brothers Room

We , yes we painted. This is the first room in the house I have painted. Laura trimmed it though. I also painted the fan. Wish I would have thought of that years ago. Laura got back into sewing again. She sewed the curtains and also made the crib mattress cover. Still looking for pictures to put up . We will put the white chair from Anthony's room in here.

Bottomless pit

In the last two weeks Anthony has doubled his food intake. This will get expensive in a few years. Tacos for dinner. Then he wanted to eat the sour cream. At first I said no. Laura looked at the nutrition facts and sour cream is better for you than ice cream. So we let him have it. Wasn't much left anyway. Now he is into bread with butter. I guess there are worse craving to have. Luckily we don't have much if any chocolate in the house so we don't have to go through that. Before dinner he dressed up in his Halloween costume. He does this every couple of nights

3 Days of Christmas

Wow. This was a fast few days. Lots of family to visit. Started off on the 23rd for Lunch with the Tennison side. Uncle Mike, Aunt Joyce, Cousin Kate, Julia and Kurt were down from North Carolina and Michigan. It has been a few years since the entire family was together. This was a pre christmas with just food. (Julia and Kurt wouldn't be there christmas day).

Later in the afternoon it was time for the Dennis Christmas. Usually every year they go out into the woods and chop down a tree. This year it didn't work out (first time in since I have known them) So a fake tree was put up. The favorite gift was for Grandpa but the kids loved riding it. It was a hand dolly.

The 24th...
Just one event today.. the Rice christmas. Anthony was happy to hand out gifts during the yankee swap. A tradition started a few years ago. Very fun. Steve was the big lotto winner cashing in $109 dollars.

Great Grandma and Cousin Vincent

Steve and Vanessa got Anthony a Thomas the Train Hut. Anthony wanted Grandma to get in it with him.

The Big day...
We had been telling Anthony about Santa Claus coming soon. Leading up to the day, each night we played christmas music and sang along while looking at the christmas tree. The lead up was pretty good. We turned on the tree when we heard him moving around and talking about Santa in bed. About 630 he got up and walked in to the living room. He loved opening gifts. We didn't go overboard since we give in throughout the year and buy stuff. Too hard to say no. So we got him a few small things. Mainly so he had lots to open. Pretty sure Candy Canes are the favorite (and stickiest) gifts this year.
Late we went for the Tennison Brunch and Christmas. Great food again.  Eggs, French toast, waffles and fruit.
Can't wait until next year. I am sure the excitement will be doubled.
