18month Check Up

Just another visit to the doctors. Everything is good. 45 min from door to door. They are always on time with appointments. Back to work I go while Laura and Anthony explore.

Spring Break Weekend #1

Friday Grandma RIce took the day off to spend with Anthony. It was a good day. Saturday wasn't so good. Anthony got a fever during the day about 103. A little cranky and didn't want to eat of drink much.  Some tylenol finally brought the fever down in the evening. He slept all night no problem and was back to 90% Sunday.
Sunday afternoon we went to Jason's Deli for Grandpa Dennis's B Day. Anthony was ready to eat. Now it was time for Desert and he wanted some ice cream.

Monday he was definitely at 100%. We had a gift card for Toys R Us burning a hole in our pocket so we walked around the store. Anthony spotted what he wanted. I made the mistake of letting him play with it in the store. So we had to buy it. Of course when we got in the truck he forgot all about it.
After a nap and a few hours of charging, it was time to ride. He liked it. Now we just have to teach him how to steer it. Video Below.

2012 Fair

Had a great time at the fair this year. Didn't go on any rides but Anthony did enjoy the petting zoo. He got to feed a giraffe and he liked it. Shane and Savannah made it out also. Anthony was checking to see Savannah's first tooth then tried to reach in to give her a kiss.

Sunday, Anthony and I went to the car wash. He wasn't as into it as I thought he would be. He didn't really know what was happening. His car riding has improved in the last few weeks. He has more patience to just sit there now. Before, 20 min was about it and he would fuss. Now he likes looking out the window at everything going by.

Anthony came out to the track to help grandpa work on his car. The second he gets there and hears the cars from the parking lot, he starts making car noises.

Valentines day

Per tradition, we went to Hooters for V-day. Yeah I am lucky. Anthony had fun eating a chicken wing. We also got to hang out with a long time friend James Chaney. He is the manager there.

More words are being formed. Laura heard "monkey" as her and Anthony were reading a book with monkey photos. (Insert joke here since I am hairy like a monkey)

Last week he started giving closed mouth kisses. Much nicer than the open mouth kiss. Sunday he did eat oatmeal all by him self. Took about 20 minutes but he used a spoon and fed himself with little mess.

Letting them eat by themselves is dependent on what they are eating. I Couldn't find the remote Sunday night and asked Laura where she saw it last. She thought he put it away in the drawer. Sure enough, he hid the remote where it is supposed to go. 

Ist February Weekend 2012

Thursday the 2nd was Laura's B Day. 35... shhhh dont tell her.
She had a long day. Had training at the school district for eight hours then went to school for a couple hours to grade papers and get ready for the next day.
I surprised her with takeout from Mania Bene. Haven't been there for years... now I remember why. Nothing special and expensive.

Friday was and average day. After Anthony went to bed we played Cards... I won.

Saturday we had a engagement party for My cousin. Great party.We got there a little after 2p. Anthony ran around until we left a little after 6. He stopped to eat and that is it. Glad it was an outside party. Laura got video of him running up and down a hill after dinner. I will get that posted later.

Sunday  was a normal morning. Publix etc. Then for lunch we went to Jason's deli with G & G Dennis. Then went to a friends for the big game. Stayed about an hour then went home. He was asleep by 7.

I think his new word is potty. Thats what it sounds like. Maybe Grandma Dennis is teaching him that word. Guess it is time to start potty training.
Pretty cool to hear all the words he knows.

January 28th 2012 Weekend

4 Parks in 5 Days

Nice weekend. 

Started Wednesday with a trip to Veterans Park. The highlight was when Anthony dropped Laura's bottle of water into the water. It was floating toward shore but was going to take a while. Maybe we will find it another day.

Thursday we went to the baseball field playground on Veterans. Nothing special there.

Saturday was Laura's family b day party at Horton park.

Sunday we went to Four Freedoms Park. Nice playground. Fake grass and a rubber surface. No sand. Makes it nice for cleanup. 

Anthony decided it was time to slide face first.

Harry Chapin Hunger Walk 2012

First Laura, Anthony and my mom came to the Hunger Walk, Then went shopping at Miramar Outlets.
After I finished working the event, I went racing. They showed up to say hi at the track. Anthony road along with Alex, a fellow racers son.

 

Mid January Weekend

Saturday we went to the Horton Park. Lots of running around. If it is on the ground... he will pick it up and play with it. Then we watched some boats pull out of the boat ramp.
Sunday we had 2nd Cousin Chads 36th B-Day party. Then we went to the Fair.
Lots to look at. Even when he was on the marry go round, he was really into the other... bigger rides.
Tried to get a family photo, but the bigger rides still caught his attention.
Great weather. This was his test run before the Lee County Fair in late Feb.
Then we went home and had some watermelon.

Time for bed and time to brush his teeth. The easiest thing to teach Anthony so far is how to spit. We only showed him one time.
